CORRELATION OF PROTECTION ROLES AND GEAR
Protection begins with an appreciation of the various roles a tactical operator might play within the domain of protective services and of the gear requisites accompanying each. Let’s look at the correlation between these roles and their respective gear requirements.
HIGH-VALUE / SECRET SERVICE PROTECTION
Tasked with the security of national or world leaders and dignitaries, operators in this echelon must be outfitted with the crème de la crème of gear. Here, every piece of equipment—primary weapons, backup weapons, high-intensity flashlights, immediate-response medical kits, you name it, RF jammers, drones, TSA check for the audience and their cargo participate in the events, tactical team as part of the motorcade or / and in position to close with snipers the medium distance / long distance / roof tops / windows — is vital to mission success. Meaning protection of the elite require multipipeline role in the protection unit.

CONCEALED CARRY WEAPON SYSTEMS
Judicious selection of primary and secondary weapons enhances the operative's readiness and ability to respond to threats. One’s choice of primary and backup weaponry is determined by the nature of the protection assignment and by the spectrum of potential threats that might arise during that mission. Therefore, the choice must be viewed as a strategic one.

Primary weapons include handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Backup, or secondary, weapons include small, concealable firearms as well as knives. These come into play when primary weapons malfunction or cannot be accessed. Operators usually prefer as backup weapons those that can be swiftly deployed in close-quarters situations.
WHAT WEAPON SYSTEM WE RECOMMEND
In the Israeli Secret Service (Shin Bet) the chosen service gun is Glock 19c. This gun modified to the needs of the agency that focus on counter terror as core business and secure of the national symbols such as president, prime minister, supreme court, national airliners, diplomatic missions abroad and secure the agency operations in the field. The Glock was chosen after a rigid process of testing different platforms. The main reasons for the decision were:
- High-capacity mags / but still easy to carry concealed and fit on the average with most agents' hands
- 9x19 FMJ or Hallow point allows the agent to shoot faster with less recoil due to the conspection that required by agency. This configuration allows the agent to fast rapid fire with minimum recoil and maximum accuracy even in a crowded situation, the agent could still hit only the bad guys.
The Shin Bet agents received extensive rigorous training in-order to preform accurate shooting in tough conditions similar to SWAT hostage rescue operators and Air Marshals.
The special agents train mostly with live fire as individuals, squad and teams in-order to increase coordination in the team and trust of each other. These skills set proved to me significant and very important through the years.

Agents also learning to combine shooting live fire together with hand-to-hand combat and Glock 19c in the way it is stricture support it (Solid rail system for the slider that is welded to the gun plastic frame allow striking with gun (due gun malfunction or running out of ammo) as a blunt weapon / fix the problem and shoot.
HOW TO CONCEALED A WEAPON
In the Israeli Secret Service (Shin Bet) we chose a polymer holster and mags pouch with a paddle that allow to conceal with a jacket on top. For more discreet missions that require work under cover we have a lather base holster with a polymer interior.
When we decide not to carry on the belt at times, we put the Glock in a special bag that allow us to draw the from a bag
CONCEALED CARRY SHIRT
As an high-profile bodyguard you may need to wear a jacket to a cocktail party or red carpet then your appeal selection is limited.
On an undercover mission, you may have more options depending on the dressing code exist at the objective. Overall, we recommend relatively wider shirt that when you bring your arms up would not expose the weapon on your belt

PANTS FOR CONCEALED CARRY
On an undercover mission, you may have more options depending on the dressing code exist at the objective. Overall, we recommend comfortable pants that has room a belt for concealed carry. As a former soldier I would say long pants and not short because when shit hit the fan you would may cut yourself going to kneeling while change mags, or coming out from a crashed car through a window full of glass and etc.
BELT FOR CONCEALED CARRY
a belt needs to be strong not easy to bend to carry the holster wide enough for a paddle holster to grab on it. Here is one I would consider
SHOE FOR CONCEALED CARRY
You need a good ground grip in-case the surface is wet and slippery. These are also Gore Tex that resist to rain and over all elements or reasonable wet area. So if you need to something more active then just sitting in the car or a restaurant you know you can step in a shallow pond and feel comfortable afterwards. I especially like with this brand also the lock laces system is big advantage to put my shoes on and zip it with one shot.
BACK UP GUN FOR CONCEALED CARRY
Keep it simple. If you maintain your gun keep it clean with good ammunition the chance for needing a back gun is very small. If you decide to get a backup gun, I recommend adding another team member to your project.
Another person with you will allow to cover more space, add more visual and shooting angles, build up high profile and low profile that will increase security and tactical abilities. You can also use the extra team member to do advance recon work before the arrival of the VIP with you. Add another role of tracking the detail to detect potential tail, help with diversion like change cars, park car for switch and etc.
CONCEALED CARRY KNIFE
You may need a knife for verity of reasons. cut the belt in the car, self-defense and etc.
